FAQ

Find the answers to your questions here:

  • Do you offer private rooms?

Yes. Every resident at Casa Palmera is given the option of a private deluxe room complete with all the amenities. Residents also have the option of staying in a semi-private room, if that is their preference. Each room at Casa Palmera has been carefully designed so that it mirrors the serene setting of the treatment facility. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items, to help make their rooms feel more like home.

  • Are there offsite activities included?

Casa Palmera residents have many opportunities for supervised offsite outings. These include nature walks, trips to movie theaters, boogie boarding, supervised grocery shopping, spirituality retreats on the beach, sporting events and a variety of other activities.

  • What is the average length of stay?

The minimum length of stay for our treatment programs is 30 days. However, most residents stay longer. Research shows that a 90-day stay produces the greatest long-lasting benefits and offers the best chance of long term recovery.

  • How much time will I spend with other residents?

Each resident’s treatment program is customized to include individual and group therapies on a daily basis. Residents will have the opportunity for alone time during activities such as journaling and reading. Group activities include yoga and movie night.

  • What are your staff credentials?

Casa Palmera’s multi-disciplinary team consists of highly skilled professionals including: licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors, therapists, dietitians, nurses, an acupuncturist, an herbalist, a biofeedback clinician, and a homeopathic specialist.

  • What is your success rate?

Studies indicate that a person’s success rate directly correlates with the amount of time spent in treatment. The longer the length of stay, the higher the likelihood of long term recovery. Casa Palmera recommends that you consider the value of a 90-day stay. Success is also greatest when residents follow the discharge plan with their outpatient providers. This is strongly advised by our Admissions staff. Casa Palmera will carefully coordinate aftercare with each resident, return them to their outpatient providers, and stress the importance of following the discharge plan.

  • What type of treatment facility are you?

Casa Palmera is a licensed Skilled Nursing Facility in a comfortable residential setting. We are proud to offer 24/7 nursing care in conjunction with multiple treatment and therapeutic modalities.

  • How are the families and loved ones involved in treatment?

Casa Palmera firmly believes that family involvement is essential to a successful recovery. Therefore, we incorporate an intensive three-day family program that includes educational sessions, therapy sessions as well as experiential/expressive therapies.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Casa Palmera will help you obtain information about your insurance’s benefits and their policies. An insurance plan may or may not cover the cost of your stay. Casa Palmera has no control over the ultimate outcome of insurance reviews and your insurance provider may not guarantee payment upon final billing. Casa Palmera may have external financing options available.

  • What is the meal plan like?

Each resident receives an individualized meal plan determined by our registered dietician. Meals are varied and balanced, and for our ED residents, include “challenge” foods to support fear reduction.

  • I think I might have a problem with alcohol too, do I have to go to rehab first?

Casa Palmera’s multidisciplinary staff treats individuals with co-occurring addictions as well as eating disorders and trauma such as post traumatic stress disorder. If you think you might have a problem with alcohol or drugs, speak with one of our intake coordinators and together we will determine how we can best meet your needs and create the most effective program for you.

  • Can my family or friends come and visit me?

Casa Palmera offers each resident time to visit with friends and family on a daily basis.

  • How much can I exercise?

The treatment team at Casa Palmera recognizes that exercise is a functional part of an overall plan for optimal recovery. Exercise is somehow integrated into each resident’s daily schedule.
