Eating Disorder Signs: Behaviors

* Do you do one or more of the following harmful behaviors?

o Restrict food intake by eating very little, eating nothing, or trying to eat as little as possible.

• Binge (eat large quantities of food in a short period of time).

• Purge (get rid of what you’ve eaten through self-induced vomiting or laxatives).

• Compulsively overeat (eat even if you’re not hungry).

• Compulsively exercise (exercise too much too vigorously, or to the point that it disrupts your life).

• Curb your appetite or assist in purging by taking diet pills, laxatives, diuretics or other pills or harmful substances.

• Chew/spit your food.

* Do you engage in these behaviors when you’re feeling lonely, badly about yourself or a about a situation, or when you’re feeling emotional pressures?

* Do you feel comforted, relieved or in control when you’re engaging in these behaviors?

* Do you lie about your behaviors or hide them from others?

* Do you ever feel out of control and unable to stop eating? Do you avoid eating because of this fear?

* Are you easily fatigued or unrealistically tired relative to the amount of energy you spend?

* Do you bruise easily, have a high tolerance for pain or are extremely sensitive to noise?

* Do you always feel fold or hot, or get a tingling in your hands and feet?

* Do you suffer any of the following: heart palpitations, chest pains, fainting spells, blackouts or dizziness, chronic lower back pain, headaches, lightheadedness, numbness or tingling in arms or legs, mood swings, excitability, hyperactivity, or chronic sickness with cold or flu symptoms?
