Michael McGinty, PsyDPrimary Care Coordinator
Dr. Michael McGinty works at Casa Palmera as a primary care coordinator, individual therapist, and group facilitator. He began working in the mental health field in 2008, and has since worked in a variety of health care settings including Calvary Substance Abuse Treatment Center, New Vistas Crisis House, Alvarado Parkway Institute, and California State University San Marcos.
His treatment approach combines techniques used in both Interpersonal and Humanistic Therapy, with a focus on relationships, grief and loss, role transitions, and identity. His areas of interest include depression, anxiety, and relational issues.
Dr. McGinty graduated with his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. He also has an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and an M.A. in Sport and Exercise Psychology. He has extensive training in both Interpersonal Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis.
