Dmitri Sivtsov, M.D.
Dr. Dmitri Sivtsov joined Casa Palmera’sresidential treatment program in 2010 as attending physician. Dr. Sivtsov received his M.D. from the St. Petersburg State Pavlov Medical University, Russia in 1995. Following his residency at the Bekhterev Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in St. Petersburg, he became a staff physician in the Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse at the institute.
In 2001, he began an externship in psychiatry and addiction psychiatry in the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program, Department of Psychiatry, at the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Sivtsov then completed an internship in psychiatry at the Harvard Psychiatry Residency Training Program. In 2003, he began his residency in psychiatry at the UCLA Residency Training Program, where he was chief resident from 2005-2006. During those same years, Dr. Sivtsov was a staff physician in the Department of Psychiatry at UCLA. In 2006, he became Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Sivtsov began his private practice in La Jolla, CA in 2007. He was nominated by his patients and eventually won two highly prestigious awards, The Patient’s Choice Award, and The Most Compassionate Doctor Award for 2010 from Healthgrades. It was at that same time that Dr. Sivtsov joined the staff at Casa Palmera. Dr. Sivtsov lives in the San Diego area and enjoys cars and travel. His father, Aleksander Sivtsov, M.D., is an eminent psychiatrist in St. Petersburg.
