EATING DISORDER THERAPIST
Clinical Skills
- Provide quality assessments and reports according to training and areas of expertise;
- Provide quality individual, group, marital, and family therapy according to training, specialties, and effectively manage time in clinical sessions;
- Facilitate productive therapy sessions and provide growth promoting experiences to patients;
- Define clear and meaningful treatment goals for patients and facilitate therapeutic movement towards treatment goals at an appropriate pace;
- Ensure treatment follows goals outlined in the treatment plan;
- Develop and implement appropriate aftercare and discharge plans;
- Complete all discharge forms with the patient and ensure that aftercare appointments are made prior to discharge;
- Contact aftercare professionals/treatment facilities to provide patient information that will aid in a smooth transition of care;
- Promote and assist in research for clinical treatment program;

REQUIREMENTS
Licenses & Certifications
- LCSW, MFT, or licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD or PhD) with a valid license to practice in the State of California and in good standing.
- CPR
Experience:
- 5 + years of training and experience in eating disorders
Knowledge of:
- Crisis management and therapeutic intervention;
- Disease of addiction to include co-occurring disorders;
Skills:
- Effective written, oral and computer skills, including presentations;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Organizational, time management, problem solving, and crisis management skills;
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a competent multidisciplinary team.

MHW
Under the direction and supervision of Director of Nursing, the Mental Health worker
is responsible for a variety of non-professional functions involving both direct and
indirect patient care of patients. The MHW fosters patient participation in the program
milieu and offers support to patients in coping with an immediate situation.
Duties:
- Contributes to the effective implementation of individual treatment plans of patients through “line of sight” supervision, positive interaction and role modeling and appropriate documentation of observed behaviors.
- Maintains safety and security of the facility through close observation and monitoring of patients maintaining optimal physical proximity, remaining alert at all times, and using analytical forethought to anticipate potentially volatile or unsafe situations and proactively intervene.
- Promotes development of patients’ daily living skills through appropriate assignment, instruction and supervision of tasks.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation on patients’ behavior as outlined by policy, reports, observations to relevant staff and makes recommendations based on observations. Assists in preparation of other behavioral reports as required.
- Escorts patients to mealtime, outdoor/indoor recreation and education activities and participates in their supervision instruction as needed.
- Prepares morning and afternoon snacks and records consumption percentage for patients in the eating disorders program.
- Supervision of smoke breaks.
- Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalating techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following proper restraint technique guidelines, and displaying neutral emotions.
- Ensures all documentation is completed and forwarded in a timely manner.
- Assists in the patient admissions process (searches new admissions, documents patient belongings, take vital signs, etc.)
- Assists in the patient discharge process ensuring that patients have all personal belongings and completing required paperwork.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in Human Services filed or related field.
- CNA certification preferred
- One (1) year previous direct care (ADLs/Vital Signs/Safety Awareness) with patients in an inpatient setting.
- Current CPR required
- Must be able to work various hours, variable hours including overtime, nights, weekends, holidays.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other disciplines in a constructive and professional manner
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
Applicants must be flexible to work the following shifts:
- 07:00 – 15:30
- 15:00 – 23:30
- 23:00 – 07:30

Admissions Coordinator
The primary functions of the Admissions Coordinator are to conduct telephone
and face-to-face assessment and crisis intervention, schedule appointments for
potential admissions, direct intake and admission process, confirm appropriate
level of care, facilitate the admission process and coordinate communication
with referral sources, families, patients and treatment staff.
Duties:
- Serves as member of Admissions Team that provides initial intake or contact for callers inquiring about treatment by phone, email or in person until admissions decision is completed
- Organizes information and workflow of the admissions office to ensure maximum efficiency and timely response to the admissions needs
- Schedules and conducts admissions assessments
- Develops and maintains relationships with referral sources
- Demonstrates clinical acuity and familiarity with DSM-IV clinical criteria
- Collaborate with the Admissions Team on all admissions
- Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development departments on public relations and referral source-building
- Serves as member of interdisciplinary team that includes clinical, nursing, business development and accounting staff
- Provides statistical reporting information as directed
- Maintains admissions information database

Requirements:
Degree & Licenses:

Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health and/or chemical dependency population ideal, preferably in a day treatment, residential, or inpatient setting
Knowledge of:
- Disease of addiction to include co-occurring disorders.
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, chemical dependency diagnoses and symptomology, and crisis and behavior management.
- Managed care diagnostic criteria and pre-certification for treatment.
Skills:

Psychiatric Nurse ~ Per Diem
Duties:
- Performs initial and on-going physical and psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice.
- Observes and evaluates patients on a daily basis to identify, interpret, and document physical and emotional status and/or patterns, such as suicidal behavior, and response to treatment, medication and interventions.
- Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation as well as Hybrid documentation systems.
- Instructs and educates family and patients.
- Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Understands and adheres to the California Nurse Practice Act, The American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses,
- the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing.

Requirements:
Degree:
- Minimum – RN with 1 year experience in Behavioral Medicine.
- Preferred – BSN or Master’s degree in health-related field and Clinical Nurse Specialty in Psychiatric Nursing.
Experience:
- Minimum – 1 year psychiatric nursing experience.
- Preferred – 2 to 3 experience in behavioral medicine.
Licenses/certifications:
Valid California Registered Nurse’s License, Valid BLS Certification
Knowledge of:
- Laws and regulations pertaining to psychiatric nursing; the various methods, techniques, and procedures used in a behavioral medicine setting.
- The uses and effects of psychotropic and pain management drugs, including narcotics.
- Patient safety practices and facility security.
- Symptoms and behavior patterns of emotionally disturbed and mentally ill patients.
- Performance Improvement and Risk Management principles.
