Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ
  • Do you offer private rooms?

Yes. Every resident at Casa Palmera is given the option of a private deluxe room complete with all the amenities. Residents also have the option of staying in a semi-private room, if that is their preference. Each room at Casa Palmera has been carefully designed so that it mirrors the serene setting of the treatment facility. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items, to help make their rooms feel more like home.

  • Are there offsite activities included?

Casa Palmera residents have many opportunities for supervised offsite outings. These include nature walks, boogie boarding, Torrey Pines Nature hike, spirituality retreats on the beach, visiting the Self Realization gardens and a variety of other activities.

  • What is the average length of stay?

Our average length of stay is 27.3 days which includes both Residential and Partial Hospitalization.   For those participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program, the number reaches 41.7.  Much of this is dictated by the insurance companies.  Research has shown than the longer one can stay in treatment the greater their chance for lasting long term recovery and we always encourage patients to extend their stay if resources are available.

  • How much time will I spend with other residents?

Each resident’s treatment program is customized to include individual and group therapies on a daily basis. Residents will have the opportunity for alone time during activities such as journal writing and reading. Group activities include yoga and movie night.

  • What is your success rate?

While an exact number is difficult to obtain, we can tell you Casa Palmera is among the very best in the nation as our facility is a preferred provider for Anthem Blue Cross, United Behavioral Health and Aetna.   These three insurance companies are among the largest in the United States and all conducted independent research to reach their findings.   Clearly, recidivism played a huge role in their findings as well as patient satisfaction which leads to recovery.   Casa Palmera knows it is in select company and is extremely proud of this position.

  • What type of treatment facility are you?

Casa Palmera is a licensed Skilled Nursing Facility in a comfortable residential setting. We are proud to offer 24/7 nursing care in conjunction with multiple treatment and therapeutic modalities.

Casa Palmera has no control over the ultimate outcome of insurance reviews and your insurance provider may not guarantee payment upon final billing. Casa Palmera may have external financing options available.

  • What is the meal plan like?

Each resident receives an individualized meal plan determined by our registered dietitian. Meals are varied and balanced, and for our ED residents, include “challenge” foods to support fear reduction.
