Do you offer private rooms?
Yes. Every resident at Casa Palmera is given the option of a private deluxe room complete with all the amenities. Residents also have the option of staying in a semi-private room, if that is their preference. Each room at Casa Palmera has been carefully designed so that it mirrors the serene setting of the treatment facility. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items, to help make their rooms feel more like home.

Are there offsite activities included?
Casa Palmera residents have many opportunities for supervised offsite outings. These include nature walks, boogie boarding, Torrey Pines Nature hike, and a variety of other activities.

What is the average length of stay?
Our average length of stay is 27.3 days which includes both Residential and Partial Hospitalization. For those participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program, the number reaches 41.7. Much of this is dictated by the insurance companies. Research has shown than the longer one can stay in treatment the greater their chance for lasting long term recovery and we always encourage patients to extend their stay if resources are available.

How much time will I spend with other residents?
Each resident’s treatment program is customized to include individual and group therapies on a daily basis. Residents will have the opportunity for alone time during activities such as journal writing and reading. Group activities include yoga and movie night.

What are your staff credentials?
Casa Palmera’s multi-disciplinary team consists of highly skilled professionals including: licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors, therapists, dietitians and nurses.

What is your success rate?
While an exact number is difficult to obtain, we can tell you Casa Palmera is among the very best in the nation as our facility is a preferred provider for Anthem Blue Cross, United Behavioral Health and Aetna. These three insurance companies are among the largest in the United States and all conducted independent research to reach their findings. Clearly, recidivism played a huge role in their findings as well as patient satisfaction which leads to recovery. Casa Palmera knows it is in select company and is extremely proud of this position.

What type of treatment facility are you?
Casa Palmera is a comfortable residential setting. We are proud to offer 24/7 nursing care in conjunction with multiple treatment and therapeutic modalities.

How are the families and loved ones involved in treatment?
Casa Palmera firmly believes that family involvement is essential to a successful recovery. Therefore, we incorporate an intensive three-day family program that includes educational sessions, therapy sessions as well as experiential/expressive therapies.

Do you accept insurance?
Casa Palmera will help you obtain information about your insurance’s benefits and their policies. An insurance plan may or may not cover the cost of your stay. Casa Palmera has no control over the ultimate outcome of insurance reviews and your insurance provider may not guarantee payment upon final billing. Casa Palmera may have external financing options available.

What is the meal plan like?
Each resident receives an individualized meal plan determined by our registered dietitian. Meals are varied and balanced, and for our ED residents, include “challenge” foods to support fear reduction.

I think I might have a problem with alcohol too, do I have to go to rehab first?
Casa Palmera’s multidisciplinary staff treats individuals with co-occurring addictions as well as eating disorders and trauma such as post traumatic stress disorder. If you think you might have a problem with alcohol or drugs, speak with one of our intake coordinators and together we will determine how we can best meet your needs and create the most effective program for you.

Can my family or friends come and visit me?
Casa Palmera offers each resident time to visit with friends and family on a daily basis.

How much can I exercise?
The treatment team at Casa Palmera recognizes that exercise is a functional part of an overall plan for optimal recovery. Exercise is somehow integrated into each resident’s daily schedule.

What is the age range of the people you treat at Casa Palmera?
Ages of our residents range from 18 – 70.

Does Casa Palmera accept Medicare or Medicaid?
Casa Palmera is NOT certified for either Medicare or Medicaid.

Are housing and treatment all under one roof?
Yes, everything is under one roof. All of the treatment programs at Casa Palmera are within our 37,000 foot residential facility. Therefore, our residents will not ever be shuttled from off-campus living accommodations to their treatment programs at Casa Palmera.
