Curt Moothart is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), in addition to being a certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC II). He began his pursuit of a profession in the mental health field in 1987 as an undergraduate at Loyola Marymount University, where he earned his BA in Psychology with a minor in Alcohol Drug Studies. Shortly after his graduation, in 1990, he coupled his personal experiences of recovery with that of his education and immediately went to work in the addiction’s field.
Ever since, he has dedicated himself to assisting those individuals and families affected by varying mental health disorders, with a keen interest and investment in helping those with drug and alcohol problems. His eclectic experience has provided him the opportunity to wear several professional hats, including: individual therapist, addiction counselor, adolescent substance abuse educator, family therapist, and school counselor.
“I try to infuse hope to Casa Palmera residents by utilizing a creative, respectful, and compassionate approach, to an often otherwise shame-based and pain-ridden disease. I remain passionate and committed to helping those in need.”
