New alcoholism related research is showing that young adults need more alcohol treatment rehab, and account for more than half of all U.S. alcoholics. Researcher Howard Moss, M.D., the associate director for clinical and translational research at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, notes that the rising number of alcoholism in teens and young adults is disturbing.
Often during this time of year parents will supply alcohol for their child’s graduation party and for summer vacations. It seems like this is becoming more and more widely accepted. I tis also a common misunderstanding that the only problem with underage drinking is drunk driving. It is important to note that alcohol is a major factor in a teenage homicides, suicides, and accident fatalities.
